Our story
About Downey Tires & Auto Repair
Downey Tires & Auto Repair is a family-run shop on Washburn Road, built by owners Hans and Alba around straightforward, honest service. Customers come to us for tires and full mechanical repair, and they keep coming back for years because we tell them exactly what a car needs, nothing more.
When something goes wrong, whether it is a check engine light, a worn strut, or a nail buried in a tire, we get it on the rack and diagnosed fast. If a repair is covered under warranty, we will point that out and send you where you need to go, even if that means a dealership instead of us.
We have built our reputation the old fashioned way, one honest repair and one satisfied customer at a time, and we are proud that so many of them have been coming back for over five years.
- Owner-operated by Hans & Alba
- Same-day tire service
- Honest, upfront diagnostics
- Trusted by repeat customers for 5+ years
What customers say
“I've been coming to Downey Tires and Auto Repair for over 5 years. Owners Hans and Alba are wonderful people. Hans and team are very knowledgeable, trustworthy and the most affordable shop I've worked with. They have great customer service and always have your vehicle ready when they promise it will be done.”
“A couple months ago, I had my engine light come on. I called ahead to ask if they could see me, and my car literally died in the driveway as I was pulling into the parking lot. They came out and got my car into the garage and I got to hang out with their shop cat until my ride showed up. They managed to diagnose and fix the car within a day and found the nail in my tire that had been causing me problems for months.”
“I've known the owner, Hans, since 2013. He worked on used cars for my car salesman father. Upstanding and trustworthy mechanic who has seen me through many journeys. If I could give him more than 5 stars, I would! Thanks for keeping me on the road.”
